These beautiful Buddha & Tara Goddess statues are handmade in Nepal by families who have been crafting them for centuries. Artisans in the Kathmandu valley have been sculpting these statues since the 7th century and are considered among the best in the world.

They start by casting a rough mold of the shape in copper using the ‘lost wax’ process. From the rough mold, they bring out the details with intensive chiseling, polishing, and pounding. Then, the statue is plated with real gold and the face is delicately painted. The finished statue is blessed by the priests who empower it with mantras to be a living Deity.
